Web17 mei 2009 · In some cases you can heat up the frame around the rivet depending on its location. Drilling a 1/4" or so hole in the center of the rivet can help loosen them sometimes too. Drilling them completely out is also an option, just more time consuming. Web8 sep. 2014 · To remove the rivet, I used a magnetic drill with a 9/16" rota-broach bit. I would drill to the depth of the rivet head, then I would use an air chisel to pop off the remainder of the head and the center of the rivet. I would then center the bit on the rivet body, and drill to about the depth of the frame.

Web26 jul. 2024 · I have read and searched on removing the front license plate bracket. However, my bracket does not have rivets but rather these black plastic push-pin like parts. I have tried to push the center to have it extract but that does nothing. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on how to remove these without damaging anything. Web19 feb. 2013 · With some creative rivet bucks and possibly longer sets you can rivet any and all on these old truck frames with a standard air rivet hammer. To remove rivets a big cold chisel and suitable hammer works well. Drill them part way through if you need to, not always necessary if you are comfortable swinging a hammer though.
